Guyana Industrial Training Centre (GITC) on Thursday hosted a public awareness day on the institutions front lawn. Students are offered competency training. Competency training means, that students are allow to learn at “their pace”.At the event there were displays by six skills training classes. Brochures were handed out to those who visited the little exhibition and also passersby. There is also Information Technology being offered to students,Stitched Jerseys, according to Greene.GITC is located on Woolford Avenue and Albert Street. The institution which was incorporated in 1966 as a private non-profit organization, is now a government facility that provides training for a number of industrial disciplines. There are close to 200 students registered at the institution.
